In order to deliver our qualifications and link with our Universities,
if you are a college you have to become an accreditated training centre.
What does this mean? Well, you need to complete a centre application form
which you find below; send the relevant fee at the time and be inspected by us.
The general conditions for acceptance would be safe buildings, good standard
of classrooms, a comfortable physical environment, a good level of teaching
staff with relevant qualifications, a good attitude to education reflected
in management staff and responsibility, quality standards and centre policies,
sufficient numbers and plans for developing the centre, DFES or national
approval, good levels of administration and safekeeping of student information
and finally financial security. We will email you a centre manual for more information.
Through your application and a site visit we would be looking for evidence
of the above standards. At the end of the day, we are looking for genuine
and bonafide Colleges and often this is reflected in the management and owners of the college.
Global Education Management Ltd would not want to work with sub standard
colleges and those using accreditation for non education purposes such
as visas. We therefore reserve judgement and will use our discretion on
whether to accept a college for accreditated centre status. Without prejudice,
we will refuse accreditation or terminate centre status at any time if
the standards fall or circumstances change.
If you undergo a change of ownership or changes, we will ask you to inform
us so we can make appropriate changes to your details and if necessary
pay a visit to your college. This is to support you but also ensure standards are maintained.
Occasionally, we do get asked if we will give centre status to colleges
in the same county or area for instance to issue exclusivity for East
London or Middlesex. We will not give exclusivity to a college but will
be sensitive to issues of proximity especially if they are in the same
building or next street. We would be mindful that recruitment is not for
the same students instead we would look for proof of a different client
group or a different approach to ensure standards are maintained.
How long will I be approved for? We will give centre status for 6 months initially for new centres and
then look at renewing. For more experienced and established centres we will agree
up to 2 years centre status. In some cases, centre approval is altered in length
based on our assessments and performances. We will constantly be monitoring
centres for their level of activity and plans. You will be asked to undertake a
review annually with an account manager. We can reserve the decision to remove
your accreditation if things change or standards fall. It is not a
guaranteed position.
What next? How to become accreditated? Please request by email the centre
approval form and then send it to us with your fee and evidence. Send
it to: Frederick Young,Chief Executive Global Education Management Ltd
